Last evening I ran 5D91 into the lower of the two station yard sidings as indicated in the timetable notes. It reported itself as "at buffer stop" and obstinately refused to shed DYSP from its rear. There was in consequence no DYSP to run out and collect 5V64. What am I doing wrong?

Could you take a screenshot of the train's timetable? Possibly it failed to step up at a previous location.

Which of these locations was displayed as next location (first one shown when clicking the train) when the train was at the buffer stop?

Derby CS. I did try to edit the timetable to set Derby CS as the current/next location but this made no difference. Thanks again.

Hi, don't spoke you have a save game I can take a look at? I've never had this issue in testing before. Preferably a before and after?

I ran the simulation again this evening paying particular attention to 5D91's stepping of its timetable. Luckily I did a save while 5D91 was waiting to reverse and another one after it had ground to a halt in the lower of the two Derby CS sidings. These are attached. I have run this timetable previously without encountering this problem. Thank you very much for your interest - I am conscious that I am an amateur talking to an expert! Kind regards.

I can replicate it with save B, however Save A has confused me as the train is dividing at north Junction and I don't know how that's happened.

This hasn't been an issue in the past or in testing either so I'm not sure where the issue is coming from.

As it happened, the simulation had saved a snapshot just before 5D91 entered i.e. before I could have done anything that might have caused 5D91 to misbehave. This morning I ran the simulation from the snapshot (attached). 5D91 entered, ran up to 473 and stopped. When I had set the road to the lower siding it came to the buffer stop and refused to detach DYSP exactly as before. However, I then ran the simulation again, but this time directed 5D91 into the upper station yard siding (contrary to the timetable's requirements), where it stopped and detached DYSP. In a third experiment I ran 5D91 from signal 473 into platform 3, where again it was happy to stop and detach DYSP.

another report of this issue.

two saves attached - at 17:15 5d91 is making its way toward signal 473; at 17:30 it's stuck in carriage siding limbo. I was similarly unable to trick the pilot into detaching.
of possible relevance is the fact that the sim did an update to 5.7 (from 5.6 I guess?) at some point after starting this timetable.

cheers, Ben

Have you set the hand points correctly and operated the red lever to obey DY457? That said, even when this is done a movement can randomly fail to obey the authority to move. It has happened to me a few times but I can't seem to find a pattern to how/when it occurs.

Ben - It is something of a relief to learn that I am not the only user who has experienced this problem. I ran both of your snapshots and what happened was all too familiar. Maybe your theory that the update of the sim is somehow responsible is correct: I ran this timetable earlier in the year and 5D91 behaved itself. Bereft of other ideas I let 5D91 use the upper of the two sidings, where it detached DYSP. However, I then used a station platform for 1K02 which caused a great deal of congestion in the station later on.

Regards, John

This seems to still be a problem. 5D91 enters the siding, hits the buffers and that's it. Location is correct, reverses don't help. Don't know why someone mentioned lever 2, that's for trains exiting the siding, isn't it?

Problem is that the location should be Gas Tank Sidings, not Derby CS.

I specifically wrote it to not use Gas tank Sdgs, so as to allow the signaller to use either road if needed (the simulation should accept either line. When tested this was never an issue with either tester, and seems to have only recently become one. if this resolves the situation, feel free to amend the timetable.

Phew, thought this was something I was doing haha!

This TT is probably the best one I have used so far in my Simsig career but unfortunately I've also encountered this issue. First effort took it into the through siding as I didn't do the GF so I went back to my previous save and this time worked the GF and sent 5D91 into the lower road as per the TT notes only to find it stuck at the buffers with nothing happening with any detaching.

I assume there has been no solution to this? I will maybe just have to use a station platform for it as suggested above if not
